See Inside PDX
In 2010 Google began to experiment with the idea of bringing Steet View indoors. First dubbed Google Business Photos, now called Google Business View - the program allows any business to be explored via Google Maps in beautiful high resolution 360º panoramas. And only Street View gives you that realistic walk-through navigation.
As a beta city, Portland Oregon was one of the first places on earth to receive this new indoor imagery. With well over 1,100 interior virtual tours of businesses, Portland is probably one of the most heavily toured cities in America! But who knew? Enter See Inside PDX. The founders of 360 Labs set out to build a quick and easy way to jump in and get your eyes on all of these businesses; bars, restaurants, retail stories, hotels, car dealerships, and many others. Whether you're looking for a Hotel downtown or a bar in southeast, See Inside PDX allows to quickly find these businesses and jump directly into the tour.
See Inside PDX allows you to search for locations by neighborhood or by category. You can also browse through these locations in a map or list view. And since we're passionate about mobile-first responsive design, you can view all of these locations with ease from just about any device.
"The sheer number of images you've got access to with the Maps API is testament to how powerful this program is," said Matt Rowell, 360 Labs President. "Whether you've got a business directory, a tourism focused website or even just a list of your favorite places - any site can add virtual tours by utilizing Google's platform."
The future of search will be visual. We invite you to explore Portland on See Inside PDX.
