A recent project has put me to work testing the latest and greatest 8K 360 cameras with 10bit color depth. My goal was to find out which camera would give me the cleanest and highest quality 8K 360 video for viewing in a VR headset.

With the Apple Vision Pro’s stunning display resolution (3,386 ppi) and immense processing power, it’s clear that this headset was made for immersive media consumption.

Update for 4/2/2024: about 2 months after publishing this article, YouTube enabled 8K within the YouTube VR app for Meta Quest 3 users! it doesn't address all of our concerns and wants, but it's a great step in the right direction.

Kandao teased 2 new compact 360 cameras several months ago, the Qoocam 3 and the Qoocam Ultra. Today, the Qoocam 3 has become a reality and we’ve gotten our hands on one to test out.
